Chee Soon Juan was in ntu today!!!!!!! he was spreading out flyers that contains potentially anti-PAP messages. the flyers says things like "... the PAP government (sic) clamps down on free speech to ensure that our young voices remain silent and young minds stifled.""Award of scholarships and university places to foreign students are also contentious."
"The indiscriminate letting in of foreigners into Singapore to suppress wages will impact upon you in a painful manner when you graduate and enter the job market."
"We have faith in you that as future leaders, you will look beyond the propaganda dished out via the Government-controlled media and other state apparatus."
it's kind of a smart tactic to target uni students, especially that we know many places are given to foreigners whom cannot even speak or understand english decently, who screw up our projects by being in the same group because they wont understand us and vice versa, who gave us more work because we have to spend so much time editing their poor english before handing in our projects, who deprive many local students from uni places. many of my friends(local of course) are angry at the same issues too.

dance class was fun! elicia and i stayed back for another hour to try lyrical hip hop. i actually like it better than the mtv one. i like contemporary styles of dance. soulful yet strong. going to dig out old dance shoes. spinning is so detrimental to my puma sneakers. will become flat after a few more lessons.9:46 PM

last sunday, went to clarke quay with zac to collect the nike race pack. when we reached there, we saw the super duper long queue. there was this DJ there also. he advised people to come back later, go grab lunch or something. that's what we did. after lunch, the queue was so much worse. stupid guy lied!!!anyway, we bought tickets to the river cruise previously. so we went for the river cruise first. it started raining thought. but the cruise is still nice. nice to look at things from the river instead of looking at the river from land.
okay.....so..after the river cruise........the queue is &^#!%*&#!@%^*) long!!!!! luckily i saw junyun there. cut one hour's worth of queue. but still queued for 3+ hours.

first dance class today. the choreography is quite nice, but i think the instructor tried to cram to many steps into a few seconds. like the 'i wana take you away' already got 4 counts and about 2 steps per count. so it's like 8 steps in about 3 secs which include a turn. it's too messy for most of us.after that went to gym. the ntu gym is so small. i'm more used to the massive acjc gym which is like 5 badminton courts in size?!?! shiok.

Singapore won a silver for olympics table tennis team women! yup. watching the singapore flag raised at the victory ceremony roused mixed feelings in me. I'm singaporean. of course it's nice to see our flag there. And then suddenly this thought came to my mind: Do those ladies, whom hometown is China, even know how to sing our national anthem? When they were listening to the China anthem being played, i was almost expecting them to sing along since I'm sure they know it better than the singapore anthem.Anyway, to other people like my brother and zac, winning is a waste of tax payers money. which is quite true la. it's definitely not a small sum of money.
Today, I was at the ever crowded food court at school. Then while i was going to go get food, someone elbowed me roughly. Turning my head to see who it was, it was a lady, and she was totally oblivious that she just elbowed me. And she speaking in rapid fire chinese with the native chinese accent, to her friends. i think i dont need to say anymore.
I complained about it to Shunxie. And she said, "ya their form of 'excuse me' is like that one." hmph! And she's young like us. not some grumpy auntie you see in the market.

omg i actually joined MTV dance. i joined with elicia. haha. i wanted something new. so i contemplated power yoga, yoga combat etc. i wanted something real strenuous to up my fitness, but mtv dance has the earliest timing, so i joined it. i hate waiting many hours after my last class of the day just for something else. anyway this is a series of 5 classes. it starts next week! i hope i won't paiseh myself. not used to such groovy dances though i have some experience in sec sch. evelyn darling: sorry next sem will join things with u!8:07 PM

argh!!! i'm suppose to go suntanning with elica today. but yesterday night we saw the forecast and it says will rain island wide. but today was so hot and sunny!! stupid forecast. in the end we went bugis to shop. i wanted to buy so many things. i want all the pretty $10 tank tops and singlets and spags. and also the skirts and dresses! but i managed to curb my temptations. haha.10:54 PM

i watched the beijing olympics opening ceremony. sure it's spectacular, but it's chinese performances dont't really appeal to me. just wanted to watch the torch lighting. it's grand, but i feel nothing compared to few years back when i-cant-remember-what country used a fire-lit arrow to light the torch.lee jiawei was a disappointment. my mum commented about how other countries held their flag high despite the small team. lee jiawei looked so lethargic and the singapore flag was dragging on the floor. isn't china her home country really? she should be happy at least for being back from where she came from, if she isn't happy about representing singapore in her home country. maybe she felt that it's some sort of betrayal. haha. im talking rubbish. getting late.

Leaping Lizard
how's my alliteration? haha. few days back, at night, i went to the kitchen and turned on the light just in time to see this massive at least 10cm lizard, flying from the table to the wall. yucks! grossed me out. hugeass-fat-disgusting-looking-piece-of-crap-on-four-legs jumping off the kitchen table where there're food stuff. anyway i told my dad to get a lizard trap. i hope it works on such a huge thing. i've been noticing that lizard for a while already. it won't go away. it lives behind my fridge =(

tomorrow is like pay cheque collecting day! i have no school tomorrow. hence im going down to my 2 different offices to get my cheques. money money! but i didn't earn alot either. just nice to have some more money, no matter how much or how little more.i want to shop more!! now that school starting, i realised i need so many things. first, i need basic school items like box files and dividers. then i need a school bag. last academic year i used the expensive fila bag zac bought for me. it's like cream coloured and it gets dirty so easily. hard to wash it. and it's a gift from zac so im trying to stretch its lifespan. using it for school will damage it. evelyn went orchard to get a bag for school today! i should have went la. i want a bag too. but i have no money yet.

was actually running well today. no leg fatigue or stomach weirdness that i always get while running. ran about 6km pretty fast. so i wanted to slow jog 2plus km to cool down. but got this sharp pain in the bone at the inner side of my left feet. couldn't run anymore. had to hobble back =( i think i'll go consult a doc. don't know what kind of pain is that. it's not the arch nor the heel nor balls of my feet. i dont run excessively either. must be some leftover side effects from the injuries i got in my track days.11:05 PM

saw this shop today after the first shift of work. it's the Canele Patisserie at first storey of shaw centre. walking past the shop is like walking past this colourful fairyland of fancy pastries, cakes and chocolates. the deco is so cute and somewhat fantasy looking. pastel coloured deco that are really made from macarons and other cute pastries. here are some i found on the online catalogue. the pastries are really affordable. and they really appeal to your senses.

yesterday and today i worked as "KuPon Ambassadors". that's our title. but actually we're just giving out the free KuPon magazine with dining discount coupons inside to try to increase awareness about this free mags. the more people who use it, the better. so the company can get more restaurants to pay them to help the restaurants advertise. the pay is pretty good. yesterday my work timing is 8am to 6.30pm. but we work in shifts. morning, afternoon and evening. for each shift, we have to meet the quota number of magazines to distribute. but we're all pro. each shift at most lasts 1 hr. very fast to distribute finish few thousand copies per shift. so you can imagine we had 7hours of break or so for yesterday and we're paid $90 for really 3 hours of work. while we were at tanjong pagar giving out the magazines, one lady from an events company came to recruit all of us there for part time promoting jobs. haha we so lucky! today we had our first call from the company. be biore girls to promote their new body wipes. but we declined. because it's this weekend and our school starts on monday. quite long hours for this also.then today, it's 8.30 to 2 pm. 2 shifts. again, only about 2 hours of work. $50!
but the most fun thing about this is to meet friends! the bunch of us are all from unis. most of us are from ntu and alot of them are from my faculty! a few of them are my coursemates. i saw them in school, but didnt talk to them. now i made new friends in school =) the rest are from nus and sim. got one from smu i think. can't remember. it's like college union or something. haha. there's a primary school mate also. we caught up on pri school things. any pri school updates or gossips. haha.
however, though this is fun, we were ultimately tired also. have to keep saying 'thank you', 'please have a look' etc about thosands of times. and must always smile! under the sun too. very warm, dehydrated. tired........
after the first day on the job, met up with zac. we ended up eating at ntu, the palatte. it's quite nice. reasonable price also.
