saw that some people searched for via ferrata at orchard central related things and ended up on my blog. so i think i'll post a climbing photo..the photo is actually taken using the canon camera that they were promoting. So it's a photo developed on the spot and i took a photo of it. haha. so it's quite blur.

See the metal rungs... and that the surface is not just like a flat wall. some parts jut out to a certain degree. And we're wearing gloves to prevent abrasions. The metal rungs have grooves which are really rough. Look at the whole mess of ropes around my waist and leg, hooked to the metal cables and the rungs. I was struggling with all the ropes actually because as i climbed, I slowly got tangled up in them, which is rather dangerous. You can see it clearly at the top of the photo near zac. There're ropes hooked to the cable and the rungs. The helmet didn't protect my head enough. I still somehow managed to hurt my head. Read full story below....

The bottom line is that this climbing is very technical. It's not like normal rock climbing where you need pretty good forearm strength or you can't grip properly. The grip is excellent here-i mean..metal rungs?? It's like ladder! Your sweat is absorbed by the glove, there is no danger of slipping off due to sweaty palms. It's just techical in the sense that, without a belayer, you must learn to make use of the ropes and carabiners to secure yourself as you make your way up.
